okayy… as an assignment for Spanish class we have to create a power point about a trip that we took to a Spanish speaking country.. of course we make all of it up, my country is Nicaragua.. and seeing as i have never been there… i need to photoshop some pics of me into some pics from Nicaragua.. buttt i dont have photoshop.. and i really cant afford to buy a program just for this so if you know a website that you can upload photos and do this for free it would be great.. and it doesn’t have to look real, but i think it would add a nice touch, and if you have any ideas of things i could add to my presentation they would also be greatly appreciated, we have to write it all in spanish and we have to have restaraunts and flight and hotel info, just stuff like that

How can I wake up in the morning?

I haven’t heard my alarm clock for about a week. I sleep through three and can’t seem to wake up on time. Today, I was very late for work. I am working full time and studying for graduate course final exams. Once I’m up, I’m fine, but I don’t even hear my three alarms. I use three of them: 1) A clock that beeps 2) Radio that is a mixture of very loud static and Spanish speaking 3) Cell phone that beeps.
I need a better…louder…solution. Any ideas? Do you know of an alarm that is impossible to sleep through. In college, people used to draw all over me on School nights (I wasn’t even drunk) so that I would wake up with indellible marker beards and earings. I have a hard time falling asleep, but once I’m asleep…I’m out cold.
Please!! Give me your ideas or any products I might be able to buy that are louder than my current alarm. Is there such a thing as a bed that dumps you on the floor? Is there a system that dumps water (or dead fish or milk…) on you? Help!!

Should I buy books for my Spanish 205 course?

Okay so I took AP Spanish in high school and im not bad at it. I know how to conjugate tenses and such. (I didn’t bother to take the AP exam since i didn’t think i would take it in college) Any way now that i am taking it do you think i am going to need these text books? Books are pretty pricy. Do you think I can pass this class with my high school knowledge of spanish.
Carl Edwards.. are you saying theres not a chance in the world that i can survive without the books or theres not a chance in the world that i should buy the books?

Do they celebrate Halloween in Bolivia?

I sponsor a young girl through Christian Children’s Fund, who lives outside of La Paz, Bolivia. Although she is an older teenager, her developmental level is that of a first-grader. I bought a Halloween card, that has a big 3D/holographic thing on it, with Mickey Mouse, Minnie, Goofy, and a non-scary ghost. So nothing demonic or frightening, and I think she will like the 3D aspect of it. But I was wondering, will she even know what Halloween is? She speaks Spanish, of course. 
I just wondered if anyone knew what, if anything, that she might know about Halloween, or if I should give her a short explanation in my letter. Her name is Eva.
Any help with this will be greatly appreciated!

Does anyone know who sings the song "Rosa Maria"?

Its kinda traditional mariachi style or like a ranchera, anyway its a really good song to dance too but I cant find out who sings it. its not the one that has a slow beat to it I found several of that one, the version Im looking for is very up beat and it talks about a bad decision or something (in spanish of course) .
And since im on the subject do you also know if anyone has recorded " Guacamole" or is it an original of the local band I heard? it says something like " she went to the mercado and bought an avacado……"

We now have Spanish directions, warnings, etc, on almost everything we buy. Shouldn’t it be if they come to our country they should learn our langauge. If we go over there, is everything written in American, of course not. If you say, "well, it’s good to learn and know about other languages and cultures". Why can’t we learn french, why Spanish. The answer there, is probably because we are being over-run my illegals.
